PLANS have been submitted for a new £2.5 million tourist attraction in East Yorkshire.

Names William's Den, the venture is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Christian and Victoria Carver, who have submitted a planning application for the attraction at Castle Farm on the edge of North Cave.

Inspired by the couple’s young son, William’s Den is an outdoor adventure park and indoor play area for children, which will create up to a dozen local jobs during peak holiday times.

It will be created in a new building to be developed at the back of an existing farmhouse which Mr and Mrs Carver say will be sympathetically constructed using natural materials to enhance the rural setting of the property.

Mrs Carver said: "At William’s Den we want to capture what a lot of parents had when they were children but feel their own kids don’t benefit from today – the freedom to wander further and play outside for longer."

Mr Carver added: "William’s Den is about recreating an environment that enables children to play freely, but in a safe and secure way so their parents can let them run around and explore with total peace of mind."

Work is expected to start on site within weeks of the project being granted planning consent, if approval is given, with the attraction forecast to open in summer 2016.
