NORTH Yorkshire family law firm Silk Family Law has added a new solicitor to its team in the form of Nia Jones.

Ms Jones, who studied at Durham University, converted her degree at Bristol College of Law and completed her training contract at Pannone in Manchester, will work alongside Silk’s 12 family law specialists to advise clients on issues arising from separation and divorce.

Silk Family Law launched more than four years ago, with offices near Scotch Corner and the Quayside in Newcastle, as well as consulting rooms in York and London.

• EASINGWOLD based developer Mulgrave Properties has appointed businessman and former law firm owner Adrian Christmas as non-executive chairman.

Mr Christmas grew Minster Law into one of the biggest personal injury law companies in the country and has also been prominent in the property sector, acting for organisations such as the Peterborough Development Corporation, David Wilson Homes and Lloyds Bank. From 2006 until 2013 Mr Christmas was owner and executive chairman of Minster Law in York, building it into one of the top 35 law firms in the country with 850 employees and an annual turnover of £107 million.

• COMPLIANCE and regulation business Consumer Credit Compliance has boosted its credentials further with a key appointment to its senior team.

The Harrogate-based firm, which was launched just over a year ago by compliance expert Ian Beardmore, has hired Patricia Harter - a former trading standards professional.

Prior to joining Consumer Credit Compliance, Ms Harter was a specialist credit officer with West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service, where, over a 16-year-period, she led on a number of high profile projects.
