THE man behind the launch of Ireland's first free online music streaming service is bringing his technology knowledge after being appointed as project director for software development and product design company Isotoma.

Mark Taylor has joined the Swinegate-based Isotoma and will work with clients from project conception through development to continued liaison.

Mr Taylor, who met Isotoma founders Andy Theyers and Doug Winter while studying at York University, said: "I have had product development, client facing, account management and creative roles and now, as project director, I will be able to integrate all of these capabilities into one."

Mr Taylor has previously worked with Dublin-based broadband telecommunications company, eircom, and with UK mobile carrier Orange, now EE.

He worked for eircom for six years as head of content and services strategy and, in that time, oversaw the creation of MusicHub, Ireland's first online music streaming service.

He said: "MusicHub was my conception and I saw it through the bidding process, liaising with the music labels and managing the whole system.

"This experience of working 'client side' will undoubtedly help me connect with Isotoma's customers and understand their needs."
