A DESIGNER has launcher her own venture after spotting a gap in the market for vintage style lingerie items inspired by the 1920s and 1930s.
Ellis Stansfield, who works from her studio in Norton, has been creating pastel-coloured vintage pieces in hand-dyed silk ready for the launch of her business, Effie Butterworth.
Miss Stansfield graduated from her costume and design degree in Scarborough last summer.
The name Effie Butterworth is a combination of her grandmothers’ names, who have inspired her, along with her passion for undergarments from all eras, which have helped to influence her first lingerie collection.
She said: "I had always had an interest in being creative and I was most interested in intricate hand-work throughout my degree.
"When I left university, I started working on the idea straight away. I have spent lots of time working on it because I wanted everything to be perfect for the launch and it’s all really exciting now."
Miss Stansfield said she is thrilled with the reaction the brand has got so far following its official launch at the weekend, adding: "It has been exciting seeing people’s reactions on social media.
“Everyone has been really positive about the branding and of a few pictures I have posted ahead of the launch. I’m so excited, there has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes and it will be a pleasure to finally share it with the vintage enthusiasts of the world."
