A COMPANY set up to sell former Yorkshire Water properties is spearheading three new developments in North Yorkshire.

Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water, has unveiled a range of former Yorkshire Water sites on which it is securing planning for residential development opportunities.

In North Yorkshire the company has submitted a planning application to Harrogate District Council to convert the listed Beecroft Barn in Timble, which occupies a woodland setting just 600m from Fewston Reservoir, into a house.

The team has also just agreed the sale of a redundant barn in Fewston with planning permission to convert into a house and in Pickhill near Thirsk, a water pumping station has been sold with planning permission in place for the creation of an eco-home.

Keyland has been regenerating redundant former Yorkshire Water sites for more than 20 years.

Matthew Naylor, Development Planning Manager at Keyland, comments; “By their nature, former Yorkshire Water sites typically have significant land surroundings with impressive outlooks.

"Keyland’s expertise in gaining planning permission on these often complex sites means that previously untapped land is now being released to the market at a time when demand for homes in coveted areas of the region, such as North Yorkshire, is at an imbalance with the availability of land and homes."
