THE history and culture of Ryedale is to be promoted by a marketing and business development consultancy based in the same area.

A Fresh View, based in Bulmer, near Welburn, has been appointed by Ryedale District Council to deliver a new marketing and communications campaign.

The agency, which is owned and run by Lesley Barlow, has secured the contract to raise the profile of Ryedale Folk Museum, the archive at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Beck Isle Museum, Malton Museum and the Woodhams-Stone collection, all of which are located in Ryedale.

Ms Barlow has brought together a multi-disciplinary team who will work together under her leadership to deliver a far-reaching campaign encompassing branding, marketing, design, web design, social media, photography and media relations activity.

Her team includes Owen Turner, managing director of York-based creative communications agency United By Design, who is an expert in branding, packaging and design communication; Malton-based photographer and film-maker Jim Varney, who is a director of Aberration Films Ltd.; and Lucy Oates, a freelance journalist and communications consultant based in Asselby, East Yorkshire.

Ms Barlow said: "Getting the right people in place was key to securing the contract and I can honestly say that I have my dream team working alongside me on this project.

"Owen, Jim and Lucy are all highly regarded experts in their respective fields, and they complement the skill set that we have here at A Fresh View beautifully."
