BUSINESS owners in Harrogate are being invited to give their views on proposed priorities for supporting the local economy over the next five years.

Harrogate Borough Council is asking local businesses and stakeholders to be part of consultations to jointly analyse economic data and forecasts, and reflect on the Economy Action Plan 2012-2015 to help create 'A Strong Local Economy Action Plan 2015-2020’.

The authority says creating A Strong Local Economy is its number one corporate priority, and focusses on four main outcomes: a resilient, diverse and expanding economy; a vibrant tourism experience; excellent travel, transport and broadband connectivity; and a world class conference centre.

As part of the development of the action plan, senior council members and officers hosted a series of Let’s Talk Business engagement events at the end of 2014, which provided the opportunity for local companies, sole traders and organisations with an interest in the district’s economy to contribute their views on what the council’s priorities should be in the future.

The consultation draft of the plan is now available to view online at http://www.harrogate.gov.uk/business
