TIME is running out for investors, entrepreneurs and students with a passion for science and technology to register for this year's Venturefest Yorkshire.

Now in its 12th year, the event at York Racecourse is expected to attract more than 1,500 like-minded delegates keen to be inspired by the latest developments in the sector and meet others who can help finance and support their innovative products and ideas.

Alongside 34 exhibition stands, the day will feature a programme of free talks and workshops from some of the UK’s leading speakers.

Former Sheffield Wednesday chairman and PlusNet entrepreneur Lee Strafford will deliver the keynote speech: ‘Technorth – the opportunity to stand alongside London as a super cluster.’ Held on Thursday, March 12, Venturefest will see Innovate UK offering free one-on-one business clinics with technologists, providing advice on how to take a great idea to the next level.

The annual Investment Competition entrants have also been announced, with eight companies from across the region pitching to win a prize package worth £47,000 and get their business in front of international investors.

Dave Waller, chief executive of the Venturefest National Network, said: "Venturefest is not a general business exhibition. Our delegates and partners deal in revolutionary ideas, the people who create them and the people who want to invest in them."

Attendees have until March 9 to register for the event. For details of the full programme and to register for free, go to venturefestyorkshire.net
