JEWELLERY retailer Ogdens of Harrogate is opening its second store in York after reporting success at The Little Diamond Shop in Lendal.
The family owned jeweller has signed a ten-year lease with agent Carter Jonas for a property in Minster Gates, which will undergo a £200,000 refurbishment before opening in May.
Ogdens, which opened The Little Diamond Shop, in 2011, is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Ogden family after being launched by James Ogden in 1893.
Director Ben Ogden said: "We are delighted to be opening another store in York following the success of The Little Diamond Shop. We always said we would expand if our presence in York was well received and the location is perfect for us."
National property consultants Carter Jonas secured the letting with senior surveyor Chris Hartnell overseeing the lease deal.
