A KITCHEN and furniture manufacturer has completed a contract to create a new oak reception desk for a local North Yorkshire school.

Thirsk-based Treske, which specialises in handmade projects, won the order to transform the entrance at Cundall Manor School, near Boroughbridge.

Justin Bartlett, owner and managing director of Treske, said: “This was an important local commission for us. We designed, made and then fitted the Cundall Manor school reception desk to the school’s specific instructions, which included the Yorkshire Rose and the school motto in the design.

“The oak reception desk features a split-level access for both parents and pupils. The Yorkshire Rose was carved on to both the high level and low level access points with the school motto Vincit Veritas, or Truth Conquers.

“We are exceptionally pleased by both the reaction of the school staff and its parents to the new reception desk.

“We have already received new leads from the school, including one for a new kitchen, and we are confident that we the same design and manufacturing skillset that created the reception desk will also create the perfect kitchen.”

Sally Kayll, admissions officer at the independent school, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our splendid new reception desk. It makes us look much more professional and makes us feel much more secure.

“First impressions are vitally important, especially at a school where parents, quite rightly, cast a critical eye over everything.”
