ADMINISTRATORS who took over a North Yorkshire kitchen company last month have sold part of the business.

Part of Chantry Kitchens has been sold out of administration in a deal negotiated by joint administrators from Begbies Traynor.

Based in Tockwith, the kitchen manufacturer and installer was founded in 1993 and had a second showroom in Harrogate.

Following a lack of orders and cash flow problems, all 18 staff, including two directors, were made redundant prior to joint administrators Julian Pitts and Nick Reed of Begbies Traynor being appointed on January 30.

Administrators have now completed a sale of the Harrogate showroom at Coppice Gate and the company’s forward orders to Trukitchen in Wilmslow.

Mr Pitts said: “We are pleased to have been able to complete a sale for some of the company’s assets, securing a better return for creditors and ensuring survival of part of the business in order that customer orders can be satisfied.”
