A YORK-based fancy-dress specialist is set for further expansion following the sale of its original premises in the city.
Fantasy World, now based in Clifton Moor, has sold its former store in Main Street, Fulford.
Owner Justin Heaven has agreed the sale with support from Langleys Solicitors’ team in York, who acted on the deal on behalf of Fantasy World.
The deal came 18 months ago after the business moved to Clifton Moor, and will fund expansion in overseas trade.
Mr Heaven, 38, said: “Since taking the unit at Clifton Moor, the business has gone from strength to strength.
“It has particularly enabled us to grow our online sales. We are shipping items all over the world and see this as an area for further expansion.”
Fantasy World was launched in 1974 by Mr Heaven’s grandparents, Lawrence Arkley and Julia Wood.
Mr Heaven has run the business for more than 16 years, hiring and selling fancy-dress costumes and accessories both in store and online.
Emma Warner, commercial property partner at Langleys, said: “Fantasy World is such a well-known name in the York area and a great business success story.”
“We’re pleased to have supported Justin and his team in their expansion and wish them every success for the future.”
