INFORMATION about apprenticeships in York is being made available to young people and parents across the city.

An drop-in event is being organised by The York Apprenticeship Hub, City of York Council, to offer young people aged 16-24 and their parents the chance to meet with Connexions advisors.

Taking place at the council's Castlegate Centre, from 4pm to 7pm on Monday 26, the event will offer attendees the chance to speak to the advisors and find out about alternative routes to Level 3 qualifications and university, how to search and apply for apprenticeship vacancies as well as receive help with their application or CV writing skills.

Councillor Janet Looker, cabinet member for Education, Children and Young People, said: "This event provides a great opportunity for young people and their parents across the city to benefit from advice on taking the next steps in their career.

"Over the past few years the work of the York Apprenticeship Hub and partners across the city has seen a growth in the number of apprenticeship opportunities available to young people."
