AN East Yorkshire farm machinery importer will showcase its new farm machinery range at the Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS) next month.

Sancton based Manterra is the sole UK importer for Unia Group, a central European manufacturer of agricultural machinery.

The firm is preparing to exhibit Unia Group's Kos stubble cultivator at the show at York Auction Centre on February 4.

Manterra founder, farmer and agronomist Andrew Manfield said: "It's a very versatile machine that allows growers to maximize the return on their investment.

"I had been looking for a manufacturer of high quality, low cost cultivation, spreading and seeding equipment for clients with a tight budget and Unia Group has exceeded my expectations.

"In terms of value for money, they are unbeaten. Although relatively unknown in the UK, they have an excellent, 132 year pedigree and I expect that they won't remain unknown for very long."

Manterra was established by farmer and agronomist, Andrew Manfield in 2011 and has its foundations in a farming business that was established at the beginning of the last century.

Manterra is also an authorised dealer for Trimble precision agriculture products and Duport spoke wheel injectors. In addition, Manterra is the key technology supplier to the Stockbridge Technology Centre SATS4CROPS project that has secured Innovate UK funding for a three year trial to commercialise innovative precision farming technology.

Founded in 1882, Unia Group employs 1350 people at its four manufacturing sites in Poland and France and exports to over 60 countries. It produces 25,000 machines per annum.
