ONE of North Yorkshire’s largest caravan parks has been sold to a caravan park entrepreneur in a multimillion pound deal.

Edwards and Partners completed the sale of Lido Leisure Park in Knaresborough on behalf of Frank Maguire, who owns and runs several other caravan parks across the North of England, including the River View Caravan Park in Barnard Castle, County Durham.

The deal came about when the previous owners decided to retire after running the park for 75 years, and is set to secure the future of the park, as Mr Maguire intends to increase investment to create a high quality holiday park and leisure facility.

William Reynolds, director at Edwards and Partners, said: “There was a great deal of interest in this site thanks to its excellent position and high commercial value.”

Lido Leisure Park is located in the Nidd Gorge, just outside of Knaresborough near Birkham wood, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its 52 varieties of breeding birds.
