A TEAM of York accountants are celebrating after their firm topped a national league for services offered to the charitable sector.

BHP Barron & Barron came out top of the league table in the Charity Audit Survey 2014.

The national survey, published by Charity Finance, asks charities across the UK to rate their auditors for satisfaction in charity expertise, service levels and commitment to the voluntary sector.

All of the BHP clients who responded gave the firm top marks in all three categories, making BHP the highest rated firm for client satisfaction throughout the UK.

Jane Marshall, partner and head of Charities and Not for Profit at the firm, who is based at their office in Micklegate, said: "Our charity and academy specialisms have been developed over many years and we are delighted that our expertise and service levels have been recognised by our clients.

"We are totally committed to this vitally important sector and take great pride in offering specialist advice that can really make a difference to charities.

"It’s not just about a year end exercise. Our clients need year round advice on a wide range of issues and we are always available to help."
