A YORK sign maker and engraver has branched out into curtain making to complement its existing business.

This year has seen Andrew Signs launch Unveiling Curtains, offering curtains for hire for plaque unveilings.

The new business, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Andrews Signs has already attracted orders for several large corporate PLCs, and have been used at a events attended by HRH Prince Charles.

Andrews Signs itself is also, with the family run business having recently expanded into larger premises in Rawcliffe Industrial Estate.

Jill Andrews, director of Andrews Signs, who came up with the business idea for UnveilingCurtains, said: "For many years Andrews Signs has been an essential part of many important occasions, providing engraved brass plaque and wooden backboards.

"UnveilingCurtains is an exciting extension of that service. The luxurious velvet curtains bring a sense of occasion to any event. The instant success of our website indicates the gap in the market which we are perfectly placed to fill."
