A NETWORKING event hosted as part of York Business week has seen organisers rewarded for the third consecutive year.

For the third year in a row the Federation of Small Businesses’ York Business Week Event has secured a High Impact Award by Global Entrepreneurship Week.

This year’s event saw the FSB York Branch join forces with their members, Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, Ian Walker & Co, and Broadbents Business Recovery Services to co-host the SUPER Networking', held at the Novotel on Monday, November 17.

The event, featured 46 exhibitors and two guest speakers, attracting more than 200 delegates and welcomed Julian Sturdy MP to launch the FSB #ibacksmallbusiness campaign.

Martyn Weller, York FSB branch chairman, said: "We wanted to host a networking event as part of York Business Week to reflect how important networking is for small businesses.

"The whole event had a real buzz about it, and is something we can build on for future Business Weeks in York."

Simon Williams North Yorkshire Regional Chairman added: "We are delighted that the SuperNetworking event has been award High Impact Status.

"The event was a great success and gave real inspiration and business opportunities to the delegates."

The #ibacksmallbusiness campaign forms the centrepiece of the FSB's work in advance of the 2015 General Election.

The campaign is centred around the FSB's Business Manifesto which outlines the five key areas that will need to be addressed by any aspiring new Government: Deliver a sustained economic recovery, Rebalance the economy, Create high quality jobs and full employment Make all markets work better, Lower the cost of doing business.
