THIRSK-based CCTV technology specialist Vemotion is set to end the year with global expansion after agreeing a partnership with a Qatari distributor.

Following its inaugural attendance at Milipol Qatar, the International State Security Exhibition last month, Vemotion has announced an initial partnership with Qatar based security specialists Alzomar, to distribute Vemotion products to emerging clients in the Qatar region.

Tasked with being the sole distributor for Vemotion in Qatar, the partnership will see the introduction of Vemotion solutions to market.

Stewart McCone, chief executive of Vemotion said: "This partnership is big news for Vemotion and our attendance at Milipol allowed us to seal the deal.

"Alzomar has succeeded through introducing the latest technology to its clients, so it was a natural choice for us to work together.

"We can give Alzomar access to our next generation wireless solutions and they give us a quick route to an expanding market now rather than wait for 2015.

"It’s very exciting and we are looking forward to developing the partnership in the months and years ahead."

Based in Doha, Qatar, Alzomar is a specialist in the fields of forensics, security and identity, offering solutions to many government and private organisations.

Alzomar chief executive Ahmad Ghiassi said: "We are pleased to be able to welcome Vemotion as a partner.

"We were very impressed with their presentation at Milipol and there is no doubt many of our clients will see the benefits that a system like Vemotion can offer."

Headquartered in Thirsk, Vemotion develops wireless video transmissions capable of delivering live footage from almost any remote location. CCTV cameras can be set up in isolated areas and transmit images back to a command centre anywhere in the world and does not rely on a fast broadband connection to do so.
