TWENTY new jobs have been created as Boots creates an opticians within its Monks Cross store.
The high street brand now has four Boots Opticians in York with two in the city centre and one at Clifton Moor.
Michelle Aspland, manager of the new Monks Cross Boots opticians said: "The opticians division of Boots is expanding at the moment, and we identified Monks Cross as a great area to open in as it is already a popular retail centre with good access and plenty of available parking."
The new opticians was opened by Lord Mayor Cllr Ian Gillies, who was joined by his civic team.
