CITY Team York has welcomed a new member of its board with the appointment of the Coppergate Centre's new manager.
Sue Anderson-Brown, pictured above, joins seven other board members from the public and private sector on the group, which was set up with an aim of improving business growth, resilience and economic vitality in the city centre.
She said: "With more than 20 years’ experience as both a retailer and also in centre management I understand what it takes to make a city thrive.
“The Coppergate centre is of course my priority, however, it’s important to take a holistic view of the city, and understand that if one sector or area sees improvement it has a knock on effect on the rest of the city.
"There are of course challenges but this is an exciting time for the city and I can’t wait until our first meeting this week.”
Adam Sinclair, chairman of the City Team added: "To enable us to sell York on a national and international stage we need all of the city’s elements working together.
"There are key issues affecting all cities and one of York’s is our need to attract the retail investment. Sue will help us do just that."
