A YORKSHIRE coast business is looking to open the region's first indoor trampoline park with the creation of 35 jobs.

Bridlington-based Gravity Fitness has agreed terms to take an 18,000sq ft unit at Xscape in Castleford.

Due to open in mid-January, the new £1 million facility will incorporate more than 90 flat and angled trampolines, as well as foam pits and basketball hoops.

Gravity Fitness says the site will be the first of many it is hoping to launch over the next few years.

Harvey Jenkinson from Gravity said: "We are delighted to be launching our first site in Yorkshire and are excited by the potential growth in the market."

Michael Harrison from Gravity added: "The venue is ideally suited to our needs and now we have taken possession we are looking forward to fitting it out and gearing up for our launch."

James Knowles, real estate associate from the Leeds office of law firm Irwin Mitchell, which is advising Gravity, said: "Trampoline parks are big business in USA and it is hoped that it will take off in the UK to the same extent."
