BUSINESSES in and around York are being invited to find out how they benefit from a national initiative to help enterprise grow.

City of York Council is hosting a breakfast event to promote the Government-backed Growth Accelerator scheme.

Businesses attending the event, which is running from 8am to 9am on October 16 at West offices, can find out how to engage an expert Growth Coach to boost business turnover.

In addition to bespoke coaching support, all GrowthAccelerator companies can take advantage of attending a selection of masterclasses and workshops, and access of up to £2,000 match funding for senior managers to hone their leadership and management skills.

Cllr James Alexander, leader of City of York Council, said: "This is a strategically important event which looks to secure growth for businesses in the city and boost job creation.

"Businesses will be able to receive up-to-date knowledge of finance and investment opportunities, as well as helping out with innovation and broader business planning."

Phil Dibbs, Access to Finance Growth manager said: "GrowthAccelerator is a unique service led by some of the country’s most successful growth specialists helping ambitious companies to find new connections, new routes to investment, and new ideas.

"The support available to businesses from GrowthAccelerator includes access to an independent, professional, experienced business coach to work alongside your company and help you overcome obstacles to achieving your growth plan."
