HARROGATE print business Platinum has hit the £1 million mark in investment into its operation this year.
Alongside the investment in new technology the business, based in Hookstone Park, has this year taken on a new apprentice.
Managing director Mark Plummer said: "Our existing folding system was inefficient and, without a doubt, the new folder has improved our productivity and allowed us to reduce clients’ direct mail costs as we can now endorse fold booklets.”
The firm’s latest recruit is apprentice Macauley is 16-years-old and has just completed his GCSEs at Harrogate High School.
He is doing a 2 year apprenticeship in intermediate print finishing with Leeds City College.
Mr Plummer added: "We are planning a further investment of £400,000 in the next twelve months as we consider further digital and automated cutting technology.
"We are totally focussed on maintaining our competitive edge through modern efficient equipment and maintaining a well-trained dedicated workforce."
