A NORTH Yorkshire partnership which provides building control services across the region has been listed among the top seven per cent in the UK for staff support.

The North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBCP) , which provides services for Hambleton, Richmondshire , Ryedale, Selby and Scarborough councils, has scooped the Investors in People Gold Award; an accolade won by only seven per cent of firms who take part in the scheme.

Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People, said: "We would like to congratulate NYBCP on their Gold standard.

"Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management, demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows the organisation is committed to being the best it can be."

The North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership was the first local authority building control partnership in the UK.

Partnership chairwoman Jane Parlour said: "The prestigious Gold Award is only given to organisations who can demonstrate excellence in developing and supporting their staff. It is a fantastic achievement and so well deserved for the team."
