A NATIONAL engineering firm has pledged its continued support to students at Selby College.
Scott Anderson, regional manager of Doosan Babcock, pictured top right, visited the college to sign a Service Level Agreement, pledging support for students studying the wide range of engineering courses delivered at the college, for the next three years.
Mr Anderson said: "The promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education is central to Doosan Babcock’s vision for a sustainable future for our industry, which is why the opportunity to work with partners such as Selby College in the delivery of outstanding vocational training for young people is so important to us.
"The college has a considerable reputation locally and regionally for providing a first-class learning experience for students, some of whom are already Doosan Apprentices."
Principal Allan Stewart, pictured top left, added: "The college’s continuing partnership with renowned sector specialist Doosan Babcock provides a guaranteed supply of skilled engineers which is essential if UK Engineering is to compete on a world stage."
