THE digital future of York was previewed yesterday as businesses were invited to find out how they can connect to the city's growing network.
A drop-in event was held at the Hospitium in Museum Gardens, were local businesses could find out more about the broadband connection vouchers and the city centre WiFi project.
Those on hand at the event, which was organised by City of York Council, included BT, City Fibre, York Data Services, Visit York and City Connect WiFi as well as the Super-Connected Cities team at the council.
Kersten England, council chief executive chairman of Digital York said: "This event looks to provide a glimpse into the improvements in technology being made in York over the coming months."
The event comes on the back of new projects being created in York after the city received a share of £50 million from the Super-Connected Cities Programme fund.
Advice was also available concerning the Connections Vouchers scheme where local businesses can benefit from a £3,000 grant which will enable them to gain access to faster broadband.
