A SELBY couple have relocated their global freight forwarding business and appointed new directors as they expand the renewables division of their growing business.

Gary and Liz Boden founded Derwent Shipping & Logistics in 2010 to provide specialist transportation and logistics for abnormal loads worldwide and have enjoyed year on year growth.

As a result the venture has taken on new premises in Market Weighton Business Centre, alongside appointing Bubwith couple Julian and Sarah Frazier to the board of directors.

Mr Boden said: "We're pleased to welcome Julian and Sarah to the team and are looking forward to growing the business together.

"Julian has extensive experience in large on and off-shore wind power farms and spent fourteen years as director of Portastor, a modular building manufacturer that supplied the energy sectors, so is very well placed to champion the company's experience in renewables logistics and is looking to develop this side of the business."

Of the appointment, Mr Frazier said: "It's an exciting time to join Derwent Shipping and Logistics. We're on the doorstep of the Port of Hull for exporting and importing and in a growing region for manufacturing.

"We plan to build on the increased local focus and growth in renewable energy."

In the last five years the team at Derwent Shipping & Logistics has organised the transport and logistics of components to wind farms in Scotland, Devon and North Wales.
