AN interior designer has swapped the inside of properties for the inside of a 48-year-old campervan as part of its latest commission.

The work completed by Harrogate-based Richard Grafton Interiors on VW, named Roxy, will be on display as part of the NSPCC garden in the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.

The business, which was named New Business of the Year in last year's Press Business Awards, took on the challenge of providing design advice and curtain fabrics for Roxy’s owner, customer and NSPCC volunteer Susanne Guthrie, of Ampleforth, who has spent the last 18 months undertaking a complete restoration of the 1966 vehicle.

Ms Guthrie, a volunteer for the NSPCC for more than 10 years, has designed a garden called ‘Wishes for Children’.

She said: "As I’m a regular customer of Richard Grafton Interiors, I knew exactly where to go for expert design advice as I set about restoring Roxy to her former glory."
