YORK helicopter and private jet charter specialist FlyMeNow is expanding its ground presence with a permanent airport base following a record breaking summer of bookings.

The business is moving its headquarters to London's TAG Farnborough Airport, while keeping a presence at its current base in Abbotsway.

Andrew Whitney, commercial director of FlyMeNow, said: "We are so excited to be opening our new base at TAG Farnborough Airport.

"Dedicated exclusively to providing a VIP experience for all business aviation passengers, the airport has built up an amazing reputation over the years and it’s fantastic that FlyMeNow is now part of its family."

The new ground base means that the FlyMeNow team is never more than five minutes away from its passengers flying from and to the airport, creating a "back to basics approach to customer service, according to Mr Whitney.

He said: "While many private charter companies are focusing on expanding their online presence and building their business through face-less technology, we want the opposite.

"By being based at the airport it means that we can personally ensure every charter runs smoothly and that clients are always looked after by one of our team members, something that so many larger private aviation firms seem to forget.

"It’s this level of service that has got us to where we are today."

Located in Hampshire, TAG Farnborough Airport had more than 25,000 business aviation flights take off in 2013 and is the only UK airport dedicated to business aviation.

Mr Whintey said: "At FlyMeNow we are excited to start this next chapter of our growing business and to see what amazing opportunities we will gain being based at this world renowned airport."

In the past six months, FlyMeNow has gone from strength to strength, with private charter bookings up my 150 per cent compared to previous years.

Earlier this year FlyMeNow, which was launched in 2007, set up a new music and entertainment division.

In what the company described as a first for the private charter industry, FlyMeNow launched the division in the spring to cater for electronic artists and DJs.

The new division is headed up by FlyMeNow’s recently appointed commercial manager Elliot Bottomley, whose background is based around the music and entertainment industry.
