NORTH Yorkshire accountants and business advisers JWPCreers has appointed Jill Campbell as a partner with the firm.

After becoming an accountant in York in 1998, Jill Campbell joined JWPCreers as a manager in the audit and accounts team in 2007 before being promoted to associate four years ago.

Working closely with managing partner Nigel Clemit, she advises large corporate companies and owner-managed businesses on all aspects of accounting, tax and business services.

JWPCreers, based at York Science Park and Park Street, Selby, employs a team of more than 70 staff.

 

Meanwhile, Steve McManaman, has joined York-based property and development company S Harrison to strengthen its development delivery team.

Mr McManaman joins Harrison from Miller Construction where he was area director for the Yorkshire region.

Commenting on the appointment, S Harrison managing director Ann Scott said: “Steve is a hugely respected figure in the Yorkshire construction industry.

‘‘And he is no stranger to Harrison, having worked with us on a number of major schemes in recent years.

“The skills that he brings to our already strong professional team will ensure that we continue to enhance our reputation.”

Mr McManaman will be based at S Harrison’s head office at The Chocolate Works in York.

 

THE property litigation team at Langleys Solicitors in York has consolidated a 12-month period of rapid growth, in which the team’s revenue has doubled, with the appointment of solicitor Kelly Kirby as an Associate.

Ms Kirby, who originally qualified as a barrister, joins the firm from DWF in Leeds.

Langleys, which employs almost 400 staff across its two offices, recorded revenues of more than £20 million to year end April 2014, equating to more than 7 per cent growth compared to the previous 12 months.

 

ACCOUNTANCY firm Garbutt & Elliott, which has offices in York and Leeds has appointed a new partner as it looks to expand its West Yorkshire operations.

Simon Palmer, who will be based at Garbutt & Elliott’s Leeds office, joins as a partner and board member from another Yorkshire accountancy firm.

Parsons Brinckerhoff, the international engineering consultancy, has appointed Jackie Jackson as regional service leader in its York office, which opened earlier this year.

Ms Jackson, who joins Parson Brinckerhoff from CH2MHill, has a background in power engineering and brings 15 years of railway engineering and project delivery experience.

She will also continue her involvement with the development of a Rail Cluster for Yorkshire and the North East.

As regional service leader, Ms Jackson will be responsible for developing Parsons Brinckerhoff’s team, capability and client relationships in the North East, while supporting other regional offices including Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Heating and plumbing company HCS Mechanical Services has expanded its board with the appointment of two new directors.

Barry Taylor is the new operations director with Vicky Wilson becoming finance director.

Their appointments are the latest development for the 52-strong team at the Northallerton-based, third generation family business.

Richard Clarke, managing director of HCS Mechanical, said: “This is great news for the company. Both Vicky and Barry have contributed immensely over the years, and their challenge now is to help steer the business forward in line with our ambitious growth plans, whilst still retaining the strong family ethos that has been at the core of the firm for more than 90 years.”

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has promoted partner David Boulton to head up its northern planning team.

He replaces John Goodwin who has been head of planning in the north since 1996 and who retains a partnership role.

Based in Harrogate, the northern planning team operates across offices in Harrogate, Leeds, York and Kendal, in conjunction with agency and development surveying colleagues.
