A FIRM of York solicitors is in the running to be named Conveyancer of the Year at this year's National Conveyancing Conference.

Langleys Solicitors, which has an off in Lincoln as well as its York office in Micklegate and conveyancing department in Rougier Street, has been shortlisted for Regional Conveyancing Firm of the Year – Yorkshire and the North East following a six stage selection process.

Sally Cottam, partner and head of residential conveyancing at the law firm, said: "We’re delighted to have made the shortlist in these prestigious awards.

"We will be judged on our commitment to high levels of client care, innovation and efficiency as well as our performance in the training and development of our staff and compliance procedures.”

Langleys employs 135 people in its residential conveyancing unit. It is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and of the Conveyancing Association.

The National Conveyancing Conference 2014 is organised by Law Firm Services Limited. The winners will be announced in September.
