A YOUNG entrepreneur has returned to her roots to bring her interior and antiques business to York.

Holly Box, 26, has opened Grey Bear in Bridge Street, four years after creating the vintage homeware venture in Newcastle.

Originally from York, Miss Box opened the shop after graduating with a degree in graphic design.

From High Bridge Street in Newcastle, she then opened a Grey Bear in Knaresborough's High Street following a return to Yorkshire, before settling in York's Bridge Street.

Miss Box said: "My mum and dad had an antiques shop in Micklegate when I was younger so I've always been surrounded by antiques and collectables.

"I've also always liked interiors and interior design, so after years of collecting bits at markets and auctions I got to the point where I had enough to open a shop.

"When I came back to Yorkshire I couldn't find a shop in York initially so have been in Knaresborough for two years, which has been great.

"It was fantastic when this became shop became available. With it's great location and footfall I've had a really busy first week trading with lots of good feedback."

As well as sourcing and selling antiques and vintage homewares Miss Box creates her own prints and cards, and up-cycles old furniture.
