IT’s all about the numbers for two York businessmen, whose communications consultancy, ThreeFour, has just moved into new offices – at 5/6 Kings Court, at the top of the Shambles.

Tim Moat and David Emery, who have been friends and colleagues for 12 years, created the new company on their birthdays – both were born on April 3.

“It’s the reason we chose ThreeFour as our new company name,” said Tim, a former York-based journalist, editor and photographer. “And by a twist of fate, the office we’ve just moved into, is at 5/6 – it must have been destiny!”

ThreeFour will continue to specialise in communications, consultancy and design services for schools, colleges, universities and education providers.

Locally they will continue to support schools and academies and nationally they will continue to design the Association of School and College Leaders magazine and marketing materials for York St John University and the University of London.

David is a former studio manager at the Yorkshire Evening Press, before it became The Press. Tim was editor of the York Times free newspaper and was a senior reporter on the Selby Times in the 1980s before setting up York’s first desktop design business in 1987.
