A TRIO of ale enthusiasts in York have launched an online retail operation in a bid to champion Britain's microbreweries.
Scott Heslop, Chris Heslop and Anthony Beswick have launched Brewd from offices at York Eco Business Centre in Clifton Moor.
Their online hub sells beers from across the UK, giving customers the chance to 'meet the brewer' with videos of beer making.
Scott Heslop said: "We wanted to create a website where anyone who loves beer could come to share in our passion for British microbreweries, and get their hands on some incredible beers and ales.
"We're flying the flag for British microbreweries, celebrating unique stories, fantastic brews and bringing everything together to share with a wider audience."
Anthony Beswick added: “Brewd is breaking new ground because we’re not just a shop or a social network about beer. We bring these two elements together to create the ultimate beer website in the UK.
“Brewd allows beer lovers to rate and review what they’ve drunk, discover new beers, connect with fans and follow the brewers behind the bottle.
“We are catering to an increasing number of the drinking population who want more flavour, more complexity and more food compatibility in their beer."
Brewd is already working with a selection of 13 breweries across the UK, including The Hop Studio at Elvington.
