TWO professional service business in York have joined forces to host an event giving advice on legal and financial planning.
York accountants Garbutt & Elliott and law firm Lupton Fawcett Denison Till is holding a talk on later life planning.
Stephen Groves, chartered financial planner at G&E Wealth Management, the financial advisory division of Garbutt & Elliott, said: "The cost of care is a growing issue for many people.
"With the new pensions legislation proposed to commence in April 2015; the inheritance tax threshold frozen until 2019; and an increasing number of legal and financial options available to fund care and protect family wealth, it is important to seek professional advice.
There are a number of options available to fund the cost of care including selling the home, using cash or investments, local authority deferred payment schemes, equity release and immediate care fees payment plans.
