AN Australian women's business network is being introduced in the UK with a launch event in York.
The League of Extraordinary Women is being launched by entrepreneur Katrina Jones at the Hotel Du Vin in York on June 2.
Ms Jones chose York to start her own property investment company and educational business school following her return to the UK in 2012, and now looks forward to launching the league having worked with the organisation's founder Liz Atkinson in Melbourne.
Ms Jones said: “Working for yourself can be extremely isolating, but through the League, I hope to provide female entrepreneurs within the UK with the opportunity to connect and form genuine relationships with a view to motivating each other through the many challenges being in business will throw at you.”
The speaker for the launch event is Julia Gash, founder and chief executive of bag specialist BIDBI, who was also named the Yorkshire Entrepreneur of the Year by the Institute of Directors’ Award and Yorkshire International Businesswoman of the Year by Forward Ladies Award.
