A NEW look for York Professionals has been unveiled at the business group's annual dinner.

The event, at York Racecourse, was attended by around 90 businessmen and women, representing the professional services sector in the city.

Prior to the four-course dinner being served, York Professionals director Jackie Mathers revealed to guests the new branding and website design that has been adopted by the organisation.

Thanks were paid to Owen Turner of United by Design and Anne Taylor of See Green, who both sit on the York Professionals board, and were behind the redesign.

The dinner also featured guest speaker Martin Vander Weyer, business editor and columnist of The Spectator, who spoke about the "exciting opportunities" for future professionals, his thoughts on the savings that could be made by leaving the EU and the need to hold on to Scotland.

Speaking before the event, Rachel Goddard, chairwoman York Professionals, said: "In the last year the city has seen many changes.

"York Professionals has responded to these changes by revising its strategy and focusing on its strengths.

"Our Vision is 'For York to be recognised as a world-leading centre for business and enterprise' and our role is to represent the professional services sector and to lead economic growth in York.

"As a result of the changing marketplace, we have revised our strategy and recruited enthusiastic, dynamic professionals to join our board of directors.

"The output of that is that we have revised our branding and developed a new website."
