A YORK Marks and Spencer employee has celebrated 25 years in her job with a champagne reception in London.
Margaret Nicholson, who started working at the York Pavement store in 1989 was invited by Marks & Spencer Chief Executive Marc Bolland to attend a champagne and canapés reception at the high street retailer’s London headquarters.
Along with 106 other long-serving colleagues from across the UK Mrs Nicholson, pictured above left with her guest, was able to experience the event before taking in a West End Show.
She said: “I’ve always loved my job and it’s fantastic to mark my anniversary and share stories with so many other long-serving M&S colleagues from across the country. The trip to London was pure indulgence and a lovely way to celebrate 25 years.”
Margaret was one of 92 employees celebrating 25 years’ service, but there were also 14 staff who attended the event to celebrate 40 years with Marks & Spencer.
