COACHING week is underway in York as the city hosts the only week-long programme for the international event.
Day one of International Coaching Week got underway in York with a launch event at City of York Council's offices.
The event, organised by Coaching York, was attended by more than 50 people and featured speakers from a range of organisations including
City of York Council, Aviva, the NHS, the University of York St John and community group Each One Teach One.
Following on from yesterday, International Coaching Week in York is offering more than 20 different events and almost 200 taster coaching sessions.
Speaking at yesterday's launch Bernadette Cass, who organised the event in partnership with the Coaching York group said: "The purpose of International Coaching Week is to raise awareness of the benefits of coaching.
"We have had a wide variety of organisations speak about their experiences of using coaching to make change happen, and have organised a series of events to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience what coaching is, whether business coaching, personal coaching, or any kind of coaching.
"I have been overwhelmed by the positive response to what we are doing in York. It is the first place anywhere in the world that is holding a city-wide, week-long programme, and we'll be looking to do it again next year."
