A FINANCIAL controller from Ripon has been crowned as a winner at the 10th FDs’ Excellence Awards.

Tracy Waind, financial controller at Hemingway Marketing Services, was among those that scooped top accolades at the FDs’ Excellence Awards – the largest national award programme celebrating the brightest talent in financial management.

The awards named Ms Waind the winner of the FD of the Future award. Beating off stiff competition from Umar Khan, commercial finance manager at ghd, and Steven Swaby, financial controller at Industrial Chemicals Group Limited, she was recognised for her strong financial management over the past few years.

Speaking of Ms Waind, the FD Execellence Award judges said: “She’s got bags of integrity – a quality that’s not often tested, but which she has shown again and again.

The FDs’ Excellence Awards ceremony took place at the London Marriott Hotel, in Grosvenor Square. and was hosted by comedian and broadcaster, Fred MacAulay and key note speaker Peter Williams, former retailer of ASOS and Selfridges.

The awards are also supported by Drax, based near Selby, the London Evening Standard, Lloyds Bank, Kyocera and MWB Business Exchange.
