A YORK communications firm has been named Agency of the Year in the North by the Institute of Internal Communication.

RED Publication, based at the Eco Business Centre in Clifton Moor, produces employee newspapers and magazines for organisations such as Anglian Water, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and City of York Council.

Now in its eighth year, the business was up against stiff competition from nine other agencies from across the North West, North East and Yorkshire.

RED’s director Andy Douse said: “I’m delighted that our team has won this award. We’ve worked hard to reach this high standard and it’s great that our peers have recognised that.

“Going forward we need to maintain this performance so that we can continue to deliver industry-leading creative solutions and first class customer service for the client companies we love working for.”

Judges said: “A very accomplished agency, RED takes communication very seriously and is able to combine a thorough understanding of its clients’ businesses with the creativity to produce professional, well-received products, and a strong focus on the value of effective measurement."
