THE team at York independent hair salon Bang are celebrating double success after winning two places in the finals of a national competition.

The Low Petergate-based salon beat 60 other business in the regional final to secure two places at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final 2014.

The regional competition at The Royal Armouries, in Leeds, saw Bang’s team led by creative director Sarah Cotton and stylist Craig Bailey have just 30 minutes to finish their styling under the gaze of judges and hundreds of industry peers.

Jonathan Cotton, director of Bang said: “This is an incredible achievement by our whole team, who have worked tirelessly, researching the trends and creating two incredible winning looks.

"They really have gone the extra mile, with the help of our in-house fashion stylist, Hollie Race, who even designed and created a bespoke couture, feathered dress for the live final.

"It’s obvious to see why they have been placed amongst the country’s elite hairdressing talent.”

On June 23, at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, the Bang team will have one chance at winning the 59th L’Oréal Colour Trophy and one chance of scooping the Men’s Image Award.

Two weeks ago Bang scooped the honour of ‘Yorkshire Hair Salon Of The Year’ at the English Hair and Beauty Awards.
