HAMBLETON District Council is launching its first ever business awards.

As part of the authoritys ‘Business Friendly, going for growth agenda’ it will acknowledge and celebrate business achievements across the Hambleton district region.

Leader of the Council, councillor Mark Robson, pictured above with Dales of Thirsk apprentice Christian Parker, making one of the awards, said: “We want to reward the businesses and individuals who have made a positive difference.

“These awards will showcase these companies and give them the praise they so richly deserve.

“We are now encouraging all our residents and businesses to nominate a business or individual within a business who you think is worthy of recognition.”

Nominations are open in nine categories which are Apprenticeship Champion, Community Contribution, Local is best, Innovation, Supporting entrepreneurs, Engaging Young Minds, Hambleton Champion, Learning and development, and Best dressed windows/displays.

Sponsors for the event include the Federation of Small Businesses and Dales of Thirsk.
