A NORTH Yorkshire accountancy firm is sending one of its young corporate tax advisers to Geneva to broaden her experience in offshore trusts and the issues affecting non UK residents.

Lucy Bagnall has been part of the team at Harrogate-based Saffery Champness for 18 months, will spend up to a year at the firm’s office in Switzerland gaining first hand experience of working with non-domiciled clients before returning to Yorkshire.

She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to gain in depth knowledge of this complex and interesting area of private client work and learn new approaches that will have relevance in both corporate and personal tax planning.”

Martin Holden, head of office at Saffery Champness in Harrogate, said: “Our Harrogate office works with high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs across Yorkshire and beyond and our international expertise is increasingly being called upon.

“Lucy is a talented member of our corporate tax team who will benefit enormously from this opportunity and her secondment will serve to strengthen our own in house capabilities.”
