RESIDENTIAL properties on the market in York will be embracing the Tour de France spirit as a Yorkshire estate agent prepares to welcome the Grand Depart.

Staff at Linley & Simpson decided to launch limited edition signboards after realising their branch network of residential sales and lettings agencies cover the route of le Grand Depart on July 5 and 6.

The customised signage, which features a cut-out of the iconic yellow jersey, will be a common sight outside hundreds of properties for sale and for rent across North and Yorkshire between now and the end of the world’s most televised sporting event,.

They will be available to clients across all 10 of the independent agency’s offices, including Micklegate in York as well as Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby, Ilkley, Saltaire, Wakefield, Roundhay, Horsforth and Leeds city centre.

Director Will Linley said: “As a company with our roots firmly embedded in Yorkshire, we wanted to add our own dimension to the way the county is throwing its support behind this once-in-a-lifetime sporting occasion.

“The event is already capturing the public’s imagination in so many ways and our offices are reporting an upsurge of interest in those properties with ‘front row seats’ that line the route.

“By giving our ‘For Sale’ and ‘To Let’ signage a Tour de France new look, we hope they will help raise the profile of the event even further and bring it to life on many street corners across the community."
