A YORKSHIRE business dating back more than 100 years has announced it is investing £1 million in a new store in Wetherby.

Originally established in 1907, All Terrain Cycles is preparing to open a new 9,000sq ft unit at Audby Lane on the outskirts of Wetherby, creating four new jobs.

It will be the business’ second store having established a successful retail outlet at in Saltaire near Shipley, as well as an online business.

Tony Booth, managing director of All Terrain Cycles, which employs 20 staff, said: “With a heritage of over a hundred years, this is our biggest ever expansion and a really exciting development for the business.

“It is particularly fitting that we are opening our second store just a month before the greatest cycle race in the world descends on Yorkshire.”

Work is already underway on the extensive refurbishment of the unit with the first phase due for completion in May.

The ground floor of the showroom and workshop will open on the same month.

Originally trading as Riley Brothers Cycles, the business was acquired from the Riley family by Mr Booth in 1996 and has grown from a turnover of £45,000 in 1995 to more than £3 million in 2013.
