YORK area businesses will be able to get specialist financial services from a new corporate business centre in High Ousegate.

Santander Corporate & Commercial’s base will have eight relationship directors and product specialists, headed by Neil Williams, regional director for Yorkshire.

It aims to provide a bespoke service for commercial and corporate organisations with a turnover of more than £250,000.

The staff will offer asset finance, invoice finance, transaction banking and liquidity to businesses, particularly those in agriculture, manufacturing, food and drink.

The company now has corporate business centres in four Yorkshire towns and cities with the latest centre demonstrating their commitment to the region’s businesses.

Santander increased UK business loans by 13 per cent in 2013, including £4.1 billion financial facilities to small and medium enterprises.

It's a pity that Santander doesn't have the same committment to its ordinary customers who will loose the banking facility in Jockey Lane when it closes later this year
