AN international motorhome club is bringing 25 vehicles to Escrick as part of a joint venture to celebrate the Tour de France.

Escrick Park Estate and Queen Margaret’s School have joined forces to create the weekend of camping and celebrations to mark the arrival of the Tour cyclists in York on July 6.

Following news of the venture the Hymer Club International has announced it is bringing 25 motorhomes from across the UK and Europe to Escrick Park.

Helen Pentith, of Escrick Park, said: “We are delighted and honoured that the Hymer Club is coming to stay with us. Together with our neighbours at Queen Margaret’s School, we are organising a long weekend to remember, built around Le Grand Depart in York on the Sunday morning.”

John Duff, of the Hymer Club International, said: “We have chosen Escrick Park to take advantage of the fantastic and picturesque facilities on offer on the estate with the assistance of Queen Margaret’s School. Motor homes will be coming not only from the UK, but from France and Italy, too.”
