FURNITURE and kitchen manufacturer Treske is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the completion of a conservation contract for a Doncaster church.
The Thirsk-based business was chosen to provide new oak seating, replace the old pine pews and create a new oak kitchen and server and a custom-made chair store at St Andrew’s Church in Epworth.
Treske made oak doors for the north and south naves and a welcome desk, book storage and an oak and rope barrier.
The company also manufactured a display cupboard with carved detail for heritage tiles, fitted to a sloping wall in the nave, as well as covers for the heating units so they looked like nave furniture.
The work adds to a number of projects by Treske for prominent churches, including Ripon Cathedral, St George’s Chapel in Windsor and St Martin-in-the-Fields in central London.
